The bioart and species series expresses Dr. Liu’s passion for biodiversity and natural symbiosis from cells to the life cycle, rooted in her interdisciplinary art-science research.  These artworks have been created using fluorescent bacterial culture, mixed media collage with Chinese ink, calligraphy, rice paper, and natural objects, as well as watercolor, water-based oil, plant tissue and ceramic paintings.
