I performed an independent ceramic study with Professor Scott Parade at California State University-Sacramento which inspired me to connect more with my cultural roots through emulating Chinese prehistoric pottery found within the Yellow River Valley. By using natural materials and tones of earth and water, I incorporate my artistic vision of the life cycles of plants and ecological relationships in symbiosis and biodiversity. I created my ceramic experimental art using wild and recycled clays that I gathered, plant life cycle imprints, leaf & flower porcelain dipping, and wood & salt fire.  I love to connect 2D and 3D contemporary arts with my ecological and cultural themes. Creating art from natural materials with my hands feels as though it comes from my soul and invokes a deeply human and interconnected feeling. It is important for me to remain grounded in this digital world through touch, working with my hands, and stimulating the senses.
