Obata Art Workshop - Yosemite

In the summer of 2021, I was invited to be a lead artist for the Obata Art Weekend to teach and demonstrate my environmental artwork to celebrate his art and environmental legacy at Yosemite National Park. I was deeply inspired by Asian American artist Chiura Obata, being a renowned artist associated with Yosemite as a person of color and first-generation immigrant, he found success despite a similar background to my own. I feel deeply connected with his artworks with passion and art media as well as similar experiences, which inspired me to integrate diverse cultural perspectives into my environmental artwork.
